MUSICThe original music of the United States is spiritual, is gospel, jazz, ragtime, the blues, rhythm and blues, “rock and roll”, funk and rap. From these creations have grown a multi-billion dollar music industry that has influenced the world. From before this century the achievements of the originations of these musical innovations were at first ignore, then criticized and categorized, and finally accepted. Others have imitated their styles, often having more financial success than the “real thing.” But throughout this musical history, the words to their eternal music are “remember, remember, remember; our history is rich and we have prevailed.”
